Seattle Commercial HVAC Project Range

Seattle commercial HVAC project expertise by K & D Mechanical, Inc. covers a wide range of services using equipment from many manufacturers.  From new installs to redesigning ductwork, our team is experienced in all areas of HVAC.

Our Install crew consists of James, Pete, Mike, Brandon, and Justin.  Maintenance and routine service is done by Frank and Joseph.  Together we work as a team to get Seattle area projects completed to meet the client’s deadline.

Rooftop Unit Installations

We’ve been in business over 20 years and have installed all makes and models of commercial and industrial equipment. We’ve worked with whatever brands the specs include.  If left up to us, we chose equipment that best meets the requirements.

Commercial equipment replacements

Replacing aging equipment with more energy efficient models not only saves money but also delivers a higher level of comfort.  Upgrades usually go smoothly as new models have similar footprints and adapter roof curbs can be used.

Our expertise with ductwork comes in handy especially when we’re replacing one type of equipment with another, such as RTU’s for split systems.

Specialized dehumidification

Custom solutions are required when a company has industry specific needs, such as those below.

Since we work with all makes and models, it’s simply a matter of choosing the right equipment to do the job.

Redesign vents for improved circulation

When the status quo isn’t doing the job, we figure out what’s not working and devise a different (and better) way to improve air circulation.

Hood & exhaust fan with ductwork

Our expertise in ductwork came in handy when Sagemax Bioceramics called because their existing ductwork was damaged and leaking.  We replaced it with stainless steel ductwork and installed a new exhaust fan and customer-provided hood while we were there.

Seattle restaurant hood & ventilation

When the Twisted Fork Saloon in Tacoma decided to expand into a full-blown restaurant, it required upgrading their kitchen. Part of our work involved including cutting wall openings for a new grease duct and installing a new CaptiveAire control panel.

Some projects are so big that it requires our whole team, like the Twin Peaks Restaurant.  We installed 4 Carrier 12.5-ton rooftop units, ductwork, and kitchen hood exhaust fans.

As we neared opening day, Mike worked on controls for patio heaters while Pete anchored down equipment and installed the last registers.  Thermostats and sensors were set up as James worked on ‘start and test’ and everything was done in time.

CaptiveAire hoods offer durability

When you’re in the market for a durable hood that’s going to be up to the challenge of a commercial kitchen, you need CaptiveAire.  They have many models that can be configured to meet all exhaust requirements.

Commercial maintenance includes calibration

Many years of experience is what it takes to test and calibrate equipment to make sure we’re hitting our targets.  After a pulley and sheave change at the Paradise Inn on Mt. Rainier, we were successful with our upgrade and achieved our CFM/RPM targets on the existing fans on the Gaylord kitchen hoods.

Most equipment needs adjusting from time to time and that’s why maintenance is so important. When the Pocock Rowing Center had us install new controls for their locker rooms and conference room, we also made critical adjustments to their 350,000 BTU Reznor (serving multiple zones) to maximize efficiency.

Commercial refrigeration systems

K & D Mechanical does work in a wide array of industries.  At Trident Naval Base, we installed air conditioning for their pure waste operations center for the submarines.  Once done, the refrigeration systems were pressure tested, evacuated to around 300 microns and each unit’s required R-410A refrigerant has been weighed in.

Refrigeration installs can cover a large scope though we handle all jobs with the same level of care.  For example, putting in a new compressor and condenser section for Seattle’s Favorite bagel walk-in cooler is just as important as a large installation.

Why have preventative maintenance?

To get your equipment tested and checked early for signs of problems before they become big ones that are more expensive to fix.  Our goal is to minimize any down time due to equipment failure and that’s what we did for Seattle’s Favorite.

Their Quarterly Preventative Maintenance program covers their coolers, freezers, RTU equipment, exhaust, and radiant heaters so when an evaporator coil failed, we had them up and running again fast.  While we were there, we also rerouted a 1-1/2 inch, four million BTUs, 2psi gas line to new dishwasher line.

Gas & gas piping work

Seattle commercial HVAC project range of service extends to gas equipment, piping, and other gas-related work.

As you can see, our Seattle commercial HVAC project range covers a wide spectrum of industries and equipment.  Contact K & D Mechanical, Inc. for an estimate on your next install, upgrade or maintenance.
