Lennox Commercial Rooftop Units

Lennox is one of the leaders in the HVAC industry, which is why it’s one of our preferred brands.  As a provider of commercial and industrial HVAC services to the Tacoma-Seattle and Eastside metro areas, K & D Mechanical has a long and trusted relationship with local Lennox suppliers.

Lennox offers a wide range of innovative and efficient commercial equipment. This post focuses on rooftop units as they make up a large percentage of our installs and replacements.

Lennox rooftop units

Their packaged rooftop models have capacities ranging from 2 to 50 tons and can be configured to meet your project’s requirements.

From top of the line Energence units that offer the ultimate in efficiency and comfort to the flexible Landmark series with its broad range of options, there are RTUs to fit all budgets and applications.

3 levels of RTUs

Energence is most efficient

For use in 3 to 50-ton applications, the Energence family of equipment is divided into ultra-high efficiency and high-efficiency units. This line was designed with the latest innovations and include intelligent technology for a more advanced level of performance and control, which results in lower sound levels and a reduced weight.

With rating up to 23.5 SEER, 22 IEER and 15 EER, they have some of the highest commercial RTU efficiency ratings in the industry.  The Prodigy 2.0 Unit Controller delivers enhanced performance, fast, accurate setup, and simplified operation.  The user-friendly LCD screen and text-based display makes it easy to input initial settings and navigate the system.

The Simple Service system results in smoother installs and service calls.

Landmark offers flexibility

Landmark units are highly efficient and adaptable for most applications with 100+ field-installed options.  For 2 to 25-ton applications, these RTUs can be configured to your exact specs.  Rated up to 16.5 SEER, 14.8 IEER and 13.0 EER, they are available in standard and high efficiency.

Good for replacements or new construction, these convenient features make installation faster and easier.

Raider delivers affordable reliability

Designed for the replacement market, the Raider line is compatible with one of the most common footprints which eliminates the need for an adaptor curb.  For use in 3 to 12.5-ton applications, it uses existing utility connections in many replacements for a quicker install.

With ratings of 14 SEER, 15.0 IEER and up to 11.7 EER, it offers standard efficiency.  The units are lightweight so there’s no need for a structure analysis as it won’t add to weight-bearing stresses of the building and it’s easier to move into place.

Humiditrol

Optional on Energence and Landmark units, it’s a dehumidification system that controls humidity separately from the temperature.  The result is greatly improved IAQ and comfort.  It also decreases the spread of allergens (mold, mildew, dust mites, etc.) for even better air quality, which is becoming increasingly important.

Multi-stage air volume (MSAV)

This is standard on Energence ultra-high efficiency models and an option on all 3 lines.  MSAV supply fan technology (with up to 7 different air flow settings) easily adjusts speed to accommodate changing conditions for increased comfort while reducing operating costs.

Environ Coil System

Environ Coil System uses a series of channels to operate with up to 52% less refrigerant than typical units without hurting its cooling performance.  Less refrigerant means it’s more environmentally friendly and may quality for more LEED points.

The all-aluminum coil is up to 59% lighter and weighs less than other rooftop units. The coil was built to avoid damage and to better withstand everyday use for increased durability.

HVAC terminology

EER stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio and measures efficiency at peak output.

IEER stands for Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a measurement of efficiency at variable workloads.

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is the cooling output of an air conditioner over a typical cooling season divided by the energy it uses.   Think of it as the miles per gallon for your car–the higher the number, the more efficient the unit.

K & D Mechanical, Inc. takes on a multitude of commercial projects in the extended Seattle-Tacoma area and work equally well from client supplied plans or our own custom design-build plans.
