Treasures from the sea/ Odyssey Enterprises-Seattle
Working with CFO Ted Hadley, we took their construction drawings and provided a design/build HVAC system for their new 3 story office space in Seattle. We brought in a mix of Roof Top units and Split systems (all with Exposed Spiral Ducting) to provide the best comfort for their new Administration offices. We completed work in the fall of 2013.
Howard Hanson Dam
In the fall of 2013, we completed construction on this U.S. Army Corps Of Engineer's new Administration and Maintenance facility. The mechanical systems consisted of a water source heat pump for the offices, a Mitsubishi system for the server room and Radiant heat for the maintenance shop. The fun part of this project was definitely driving across the dam each day to get to the new job site.
Verizon Wireless cell tower sites
We are currently working with Eagle Commercial Services to provide and install emergency back-up generators at multiple cell tower locations. K&D has been contracted to provide the fuel line service for the generators. Whether its natural gas, propane or a Pryco diesel fill station system, we have successfully managed our scope. We are also providing and installing Harco Insulated Exhaust Systems at some locations (these usually require some louvers and sheet-metal ducting that we are also providing).
Snohomish County PUD #1
Working with Unimark Construction Group and Hultz BHU Cross Engineering, K&D Mechanical, Inc. provide the HVAC systems for their water operations facility in Lake Stevens.
This work included the operations center, warehouse and vehicle storage. We provide and installed equipment ranging from roof top Trane heat pumps, exhaust and paddle fans, infrared and duct heaters to a Mitsubishi City Multi A/C System for their many server rooms.
LA Fitness Center in Everett WA
We provided the complete HVAC system for this 45,000 sq. ft. new health club. This included full ductwork installation, 12 Trane Roof-top units ranging from 7.5-ton to 10-ton units (for a total of 76.5 tons), Desert Aire dehumidification system for the pool area, venting of the pool/spa boilers and installation 9 roof-top exhaust fans.
Archdiocesan Housing Authority
We provided the design and build for a fresh air system for the corridors. We installed two Greenheck Indirect gas fired make-up air units on the roof to serve two floors and 4 hallways with fresh air.
We included all roofing, electrical and construction work needed, including the engineered plans for the city of Seattle.
Bethell High School, Graham
Working with Hermanson Corporation, we provided the refrigeration piping to 10 Mitsubishi split systems that are serving miscellaneous electrical and equipment rooms throughout the new school.
Antioch University Seattle
Over the past several years, we have been involved in several of the university’s expansion projects providing HVAC work including the installation of new systems, reworking existing systems and installing new server room air-conditioning systems.
We are currently involved in their re-roofing project and are relocating all of the split system condensing units.
In conjunction with Auburn Mechanical, we provided an 85% mechanical HVAC rooftop equipment and ductwork reduction and replaced it with 6 low-profile custom-built Trane chilled water air handlers.
A Captive Aire kitchen hood system with fire suppression was also installed.
Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One Administration Building
Working with Blews Construction and Rice Fergus Miller Architects, we provided and installed a Carrier split system heat pump and exhaust fans for their upstairs offices. We also installed a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim A/C system for their server room.
Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center
Located on Lake Washington at Stan Sayres Park/Pit's, K&D Mechanical has begun this tenant improvement project on their multi-purpose meeting room with full caterer's kitchen.
We will be working with PKM General Construction and Arellano/Christofides architects with a deadline to open the doors on July 1st of 2011, just in time for the Blue Angels and Sea-fair.
K&D Mechanical, Inc. was the primary service provider for the Key Arena from 2002 to 2010. On an annual basis, we removed and cleaned the seven kitchen exhaust fans, the grease duct and hoods are cleaned and our technicians made any necessary repairs to insure trouble free operation.
We routinely work on their walk in coolers, freezers, ice machines, pizza ovens, steamers, popcorn poppers, ice cream dispensers, hot water tanks, chillers, cooling towers and exhaust fans to keep all of their mechanical systems operating properly.
United Methodist Church at Browns’ Point, Tacoma
We removed the two old oil furnaces and installed new Trane gas furnaces with a complete rework of the ducting in the mechanical room.
We were also involved in the 2,000 sq. ft. remodel of their church this year by Saybr Contractors with the addition of one more Trane gas furnace, exhaust and full ducting.
Jeff Brotman, Chairman of the board for Costco
We provided and installed a complete HVAC system for his 6-story 8,000 sq. ft. home in Madison Park, including a boiler and radiant heating system for the first two floors and hot water fan coil systems with air conditioning and complete ducting for the remaining 4 floors.
We also provided and installed a refrigeration system for his wine cellar and three 50-gallon direct vent hot water tanks.
Washington Athletic Club, Seattle
Working with Edifice construction, we provided new ducting and GRD’s during their recent interior remodel of the 5th and 6th floors, which included the locker rooms, lounge, and weight room.
John Force Racing, Seattle
Our staff provided the HVAC support and services during the 2006 July Seattle racing at Pacific Raceways.
The Goddard School for early childhood development.
Working with E. Kent Halvorson, Inc. and Magellan Architects of Redmond, K&D will start this Tenant Improvement's project in the spring of 2011. Our work will include as many as 9 condensing gas furnaces with air conditioning and over 17 exhaust fans.
Northwest Animal Care Hospital in Everett
We installed 3-zones totaling 12-tons of air conditioning and 4,800 CFM for this new 4,532 sq. ft. single story veterinary care clinic.
This job posed many challenges with odor control and cooling loads for 3 separate zones, including one with many animals, surgery room, and large entry that was to be kept in a positive pressure at all times.
The dog run/kennel area was to be in a negative pressure at all times and had a higher cooling load than the rest of the clinic. The HVAC system was commissioned by Air Balance Associates (a NEBS certified company) at the completion of the job.
The Attic Bar and Eatery, Seattle
Provided and installed a new additional rooftop packaged unit for the bar area with exposed ductwork. We also provide periodic maintenance and repair work on their coolers and ice machines.
Union Bank of California, Tacoma
Working with Turner Construction, we provided and installed six split-system Trane heat pumps and complete ducting.
We had to provide an engineered refrigeration piping system for each heat pump to compensate for the over 60 feet of elevation rise from the air handlers to the condensers on the roof.
Orchard Park Health and Rehab Center
Working with Shinstine and Associates, we provided the complete HVAC system per the engineered drawings for this facility.
Our work included a new Trane 15-ton split system heat pump and over 60 individual room PTAC heating and cooling units.
Famous Dave’s Barbeque, Puyallup, Tacoma, Southcenter, and Everett
We have been the HVAC controls sub-contractor for United Team Mechanical on all four of these Famous Dave’s locations and will be starting work on the next restaurant in Federal Way in the summer of 2010.
